So this DIY all started when I was in Hobbycraft getting an A1 sheet of card for another project. Of course, it would be bad form not to check out some of the other aisles while I was there ;) I found these closed links in the clearance section of the jewelry making aisle. It was one of those "hmmm, I think I could make somehing interesting with these but I'm not sure what yet" kinda moments. At 49p a pair, I thought, "where's the harm" and promptly bought the last 3 packets; and had them hanging around in my bag for about a month when this idea popped into my head. (BTW, I thought 49p for 2 was a bargain. imagine how gutted surprised I was to find that you can buy them direct from the supplier at 65p for 10!!). Anyhow, "sniff" moving on...
I really like the look of mixing metals. So I decided to incorporate some medium gauge gold plated jewelry wire to contrast with the silver finish of the rings....
I connected all the circles at the points where they touched using little wire wraps...
So I had this shape...
Then added some gold chain to the top two outer circles like so...
I kinda like how it turned out. Sort of a minimalist statement piece... if that's not some kind of contradiction in terms!
