Working with leather isn't everyone's cup of tea. The biggest challenge is to sew the leather parts together. Even with leather needle the regular sewing machines have sometimes troubles to get through the layers. This fashion tutorial shows a creative way to make a leather clutch without requirement of sewing machine or glue gun. The entire construction holds together with only one tuck-tite fastener.
You will need a piece of leather, punch pliers, zig-zag scissors, scissors, pencil, tuck-tite fastener, scissors.
Cut a square or a rhombus and cut off the lower corner of your clutch. That is going to be the inside edge of the bag.
Trim all edges with the zigzag scissors. That might take a while :)
Punch the eyelet along the edges. THAT might take forever :).
At the end your leather will look like a Grannie's tablecloth.
Flip over the cut-off part so that the edge lays in the middle.
Fold the sides like by an envelope. The corners should cross over a little in the middle.
Make sure the leather on the corners overlaps.
Now connect all 3 layers together with the bottom part of the tuck- tite fastener.
Now attach the top part of the fastener to the flap und you're finished.
This is how the finished Origami clutch looks like.
