Diy Mixed Metal Tassel Necklace

What to do with all your chains scraps? Part I

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's got a ton of chain scraps lying around. For this DIY I used some leftover chain from another project and topped it with a pearl bead for that extra oomph. This is especially perfect for those days when I find it hard to choose between gold vs silver vs gunmetal gray accessories. Why not all three?

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Scrap Chain (at least 3" long)
  • Longer necklace Chain
  • Eye Pins
  • Jump Ring(s)
  • Pearl Beads
  • Bead Caps
  • Jewelry Pliers

Steps (3 steps, 10 minutes)

  1. 1

    1. Trim your chain to about 3" long, if they aren't already. I used six but add more if you wish.

    2. Attach the chains to your jump ring, in addition to the eye pin at the end.

  2. 2

    3. String on your first bead cap, the pearl, then your second bead cap.

    4. Using pliers, form a loop. Attach to your necklace chain with another jump ring.

  3. 3

That's it! I love how versatile this necklace is. Still have some scraps left over? You can also make a pair of tassel earrings if you have enough chain :)

How do you use up your scraps?
