I originally found this on http://www.turnstylevogue.com/2012/03/clean-your-garbage-disposal-with-these/, and it really is simple. I am currently in the progress of making these, but by tomorrow, I'll have them ready. But such a great idea, I think you'd probably be able to use oranges or limes as well.

Instructions

  1. Small img 0514

Grab your lemon(s), vinegar and ice trays and a knife. First clean your ice trays Then cut up a lemon or two into wedges small enough to fit in the little boxes.

  2. Small img 0513

Next fill each lemon wedge with straight vinegar

Now just place your vinegar/lemon filled ice trays into the freezer and you're done. Probably a good idea to empty the trays once they're frozen and store in a sealed plastic bag in the freezer. But as far as I know, just throw one in the garbage disposal when you need a quick freshener.
