Description

Recreate the classic look of the mid-century (think: pompadour, quiff and ducktail) with this DIY hair pomade - makes a great gift for the stylish gentlemen in your life!

Instructions

  1. Small 106921 2f2015 02 01 104336 pomade%2bmelt

Cut up the beeswax and melt in a double boiler (you can create a makeshift double boiler by placing a heatproof dish into a large pan of water and placing onto a hot hob)

  2. Small 106921 2f2015 02 01 104342 pomade%2boil%2badd

Add the coconut oil and the essential oil (I used ‘Chinese Musk’, but more common scents such as peppermint or lavender work well too). Stir the mixture with a metal spoon, until it’s all fully melted and well dispersed.

  3. Small 106921 2f2015 02 01 104348 pomade%2bpour%2band%2bcool

Carefully pour the mixture into a clean, dry container and leave to cool for at least 3 hours at room temperature.

  4. Small 106921 2f2015 02 01 104354 pomade%2blast%2bstep

To use the hair pomade, just rub a pea sized amount between your fingers to soften it, then apply to your hair as normal.
