How to create the "Evil Queen" inspired hair accessory

About
My latest addiction is the popular fairy tale drama series "Once upon a time". For those who know nothing about the show here is a little spoiler: fairy tales go real life! Confused? Just watch the show. I am for my part watching it every day. It is such a thrilling show with twisted stories and complicated characters. My favorite show character is the Evil Queen. Mostly because of her bombastic wardrobe and her "I don't give a crap" attitude :).
Inspired by the queen's amazing costumes I designed a simple tutorial for this unique hair accessory. You will need about 2 hours of your time and about 10 € ($13) of your budget. I hope you like the way I designed the "Evil Queen" hair band. Have fun by creating yours!

You Will Need (4 things)
- Green Fabric
- Plastic Hair Band
- Glass Spikes
- Bead(s)
Steps (10 steps, 120 minutes)
-
1
You will need green fabric, pencil, ruler, tape measure, matching threads, safety pin, scissors, diff. sized beads, glass spikes, plastic hair band. You can find everything on Etsy.com
-
2
Measure the width and the total length of your headband
-
3
Cut a strap based on the measurement plus seam allowance
-
4
Fold the strap and sew the side together
-
5
Turned the strap inside out with the help of the safety pin. Slide the strap onto the headband
-
6
Stretch the fabric and push the ends inside and close them with the matching thread
-
7
First attach the spikes to the headband leaving about 2 cm (1") space between each. I used 8 spikes for this project.
-
8
Then attach the beads between the spikes, vary the sizes
-
9
I attached the spikes and the beads only on one side, You can play around and create your own unique design.
