I was at the craft store and found some cool chalkboard paint and decided to give it a try. This is what I came up with. The fun part is you don't have to use any of the stuff I did. As long as you buy the chalkboard paint($3.49) you can paint on any surface!
I was at the craft store and found some cool chalkboard paint and decided to give it a try. This is what I came up with. The fun part is you don't have to use any of the stuff I did. As long as you buy the chalkboard paint($3.49) you can paint on any surface!
You will need to begin with a piece of cardboard or card-stock and paint it with the chalkboard paint.
You will need to add 2 coats of paint and make sure to let dry 1 hour between each coat. This will ensure a nice even finish.
YOu then write on your new chalkboard to condition it and make sure the chalk will stay. Just rub the chalk around, Now you have a new chalkboard! You may then leave it like this or follow the next step for a creative touch.
I then added ribbon between the chalkboard and the leopard printed cardboard to create a seamless effect. (My cutting was awful)
You can then add a few more accents to it to make it more personalized. I had a few faux gems and decided to add them. You can add bows or stickers or whatever you have laying around! thats the fun part, being creative and making something unique!
AND NOW YOU HAVE A NEW COOL CHALKBOARD!
