First step: assemble supplies! What you will need clockwise from the top: lace, fabric, scissors, chalk pen, button, brooch back and brooch pin, needle and thread and straight pins.
Measure out how much lace you will need to cover the brooch back and cut it into strips. I needed 6 pieces for mine.
Pin your lace pieces together. You might need to play with it to get the right shape.
Sew all of the pieces together.
Measure the width of your lace, this will be important in a minute.
Take your fabric and draw a soft triangle with your fabric pencil. I used the measurement from the last step to figure out how tall to make them.
Cut out your little triangle once you are happy with the shape. I was lazy and cut out all six at once. It made them all a little different, which I liked.
Arrange your triangles.
Pin your triangles to the lace.
Sew through all layers.
My button was kind of small and didn't cover the stitching, so I cut out a square and placed it in the middle to cover it up.
I sewed the button and the square to the lace and triangles at the same time.
Next I took a hot glue gun and glued the lace etc. to the metal brooch back. then I stuck on the pin.
Wear your brooch and enjoy!
