This adorable bee house will be the perfect addition to your spring garden. Easy to make and affordable it's a sure way to welcome spring.
Gather all of your materials and prepare your work space. For my form I used my Kitchen aid mixer bowl-- it really depends on what shape you would like your bee house to be.
Start by wrapping your rope around the base of your metal bowl and hot gluing where the two pieces meet. Make sure to allow this part to cool completely before continuing.
Moving around the bowl hot glue the rope pieces together in a continuous bead. Don't skip a spot-- you want it to be bonded together strong so it will last. Keep going until you reach the top.
At the end / top of the bowl leave enough rope to form a loop at the top as well as 1" to feed into the inside before cutting. To remove your house from the metal bowl place it in the freezer for 20 minutes and then gently wiggle it free of the form. Leave it on the counter to return to room temperature before continuing on the next step. Hot glue your end piece to the inside top of your bee skep leaving the excess rope to form a loop on the outside.
Next cut a length of rope to form your bee entrance-- with my luck I would get wasps in mine so I decided to just color mine in with sharpie rather than make a real hole. Hot glue your ends together and then hot glue your circle on to the face of your bee house.
Now your ready to put it out in the garden for spring.
