Cut Out + Keep

Difunta

Dia de los muertos doll for a friend

https://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/difunta • Posted by Azraels Requiem

This is Difunta which means Deceased and she is one of only 2 (so far) maracas. The other being my Mexican wrestler doll. Her head is filled with glass beads. I sculpted her face onto a plastic ball that I first covered with paper mache. Her torso is a block of wood I carved with an xacto blade and glued a pair of wooden balls, filling the gaps with clay and applying paper mache over it to smoothen out the transition. Her arms and legs r carved wood, her shoes r barbie shoes. I gave her a wooden eyeball on her head through which I threaded the mesh bag that came with limes.
