I photograph jewelry. So do a lot of other people. On places like Etsy, or Ebay, if your photos suck...well your product isn't going to sell.
There are a ton of wonderful homemade light boxes out there, and for a while, that's all that I used. I did however, break down and buy myself a professional lightbox. It cost me about $40. However, just for the camera tripod and the lights, it was MORE than worth it.
The light box sets up like a tent and comes with a piece of fabric that is reversible, gray on one side, blue on the other.
<===== Pretty nice huh? Not bad for not knowing the first thing about photography.
Here was my kicker though. I LOVE color. I wanted something more than gray or blue, but didn't want to spend oodles of money!

So I searched and searched and came up with this! It works great and altogether the entire project cost me about $5. I went to my local Wally World and straight to the fabric section I went. There I found a bin with cut offs for about 20-65 cents each. Each one was almost a yard of fabric, if not sometimes a bit more. VOILA! My new backgrounds!
The first thing you need is some velcro. I bought some with tape already on the back.

I cut the velcro into three small strips. That's all I need! The light box has a strip of velcro along the top inside back to hang the gray/blue piece that came with it.
Then I stuck the velcro to my pretty new fabric like so!

EUREKA! I now have a beautiful new background to use for my photography without spending oodles of money! The fabric can be used over and over and you just stick it up when you want and pull it down when your done!
