A perfect pompom to make for a Hallowe’en celebration. Although he’s not remotely scary.
A perfect pompom to make for a Hallowe’en celebration. Although he’s not remotely scary.
For nose, wind 10 wraps of black in a wedge from centre towards RHE. Wind 10 wraps of white next to black. For teeth, wind 10 wraps of black and white parallel, 2 wraps wide.
For chin, at RHE of maker, wind 20 wraps of turquoise and red together in a wedge with widest part at edge of maker.
Wind 20 wraps of white between chin and teeth. Wind 30 wraps of white to left of nose. Wind 10 wraps of yellow over white towards LHE. Wind 10 wraps of white until even.
For eye sockets, wind 60 wraps of gold, starting a couple of wraps down from top of yellow, finishing a couple of wraps up from nose.
Wind 15 wraps of turquoise over gold, starting and finishing a couple of wraps in from edges of gold. Then wind 10 wraps of black in centre of turquoise.
Wind 15 wraps of turquoise over black, then wind 60 wraps of gold over turquoise.
To complete eye socket, wind 10 wraps of yellow over gold. At LHE of maker wind 12 wraps of bright pink and red leaving a gap to yellow. Fill gap with 10 wraps of white.
Fill maker with white. There is already more yarn at LHE of maker due to the eye sockets; this helps to give a natural skull shape. To complete pompom, fill other half of maker with white. Complete and remove it from maker.
Trim the skull so it is naturally pointy towards chin, but bulbous at crown. Keep trimming until you are happy with the shape.
