After returning from Burning Man 2015 with a nice tan, despite using and reapplying sunscreen, I decided to make a long, full-coverage, light-weight desert jacket. As usual, I really have no idea what I'm doing. So I just lay out the materials, look at everything, then close my eyes and go! The best part about not knowing what you're doing is not knowing you're doing it wrong! :) I started with a FROG shirt, a few pairs of cargo pants, a pair of stretchy pants, a t-shirt, and some notions. And *presto change-o*, three days later I have my jacket! I'm still adding some finishing touches, like some hand stitching down the seams for that "homemade" look, but I'm so very happy with it! The "bustle" in the back comes undone if I want more room in my hips for any gear I'm wearing. And when I wrap my face with a shemagh, I'm completely covered from the sun's rays. Soooo happy!!!
