Don't throw out those old jeans...the fabric can be used to make a variety of crafts...like this hanging decoration. You could use any medium to thick fabric and choose your own shapes.

Take old pairs of jeans, remove the zips, buttons and seams and finally iron over to smooth. I like to keep my denim scraps arranged according to colour.
Using a 50/50 mixture of PVA glue and water, coat the denim evenly and leave to dry. This will stiffen the fabric, making it sturdy and easy to craft with.
Create stencils using strong paper or card. Use the stencils to cut out the shapes from the denim.
Add detailing of your choice using embroidery, fabric paint or even watercolour pencil, like I have here.
Using a needle and thread, string each denim shape to another so that the hang down in a line. Make sure that the top shape has thread attached to the top so that it can be tied to something.
