Make your very own wearable art with these decoupaged pins.
First, paint your wooden shape a solid color. Tip: if you’re gonna do a solid-glitter background, first paint wooden shape with a matte base the same color as the glitter to create a more cohesive look.
Next, get out your collage materials! In this tutorial I'm using inkjet print-outs of some favorite images I found on the web.
You can use the badge base as a background, or you can use it as a foundation and create a background from cut-out images, fabric scraps, etc.
Start the decoupaging process by applying a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of all the papery things you want to include on your badge.
Place the image(s) on the badge, and smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers.
Add on glitter & confetti if you'd like, and seal everything in with a generous layer of Mod Podge.
After you apply the Mod Podge, set your badge aside to dry completely.
As a finishing touch, apply a layer of dimensional glue or epoxy resin over the surface of your brooch.
Lastly, glue a bar pin to the back with a little bit of E6000.
All done!
