Instructions

  1. Not going to be the most detailed how-to as I didn't get pics while making it but here goes... First work out your pattern. I did mine with wide masking tape and card onto a tailors dummy. I basically covered the whole torso and drew the pattern on with a sharpie. Cut it along some of the seams enough to allow you to get the whole lot off the dummy

  2. Since the seams are all butt seams you don't need seam allowance. Cut your pattern out making sure you get the 2 halves symmetrical. I tend to stick the left and right pieces together and make the best shape of the 2 Some won't fit perfectly flat so add a little to one edge to make up for the amount it'll have to stretch.

  3. Start by using the edge groover to make a neat line all around all the pieces, then you want to bevel the edges that won't be sewn. It's easier now than later.

  4. Mark the stitch lines with the stitch marker and punch the holes with the awl. Sew in sections, keeping both sides as symmetrical as possible

  5. Once it's all stitched find something like a solid mannequin form or a couple of bowls to shape the breast area. Wet the leather and stretch it over the form until it's shaped enough to match your dimensions. Allow to dry

  6. Dye the finished item. I use an airbrush for a nice even coat but a sponge brush or a cloth can work as well. Check the instructions on the dye you're using and make sure you wear gloves! Leather dye dyes leather, and leather is skin, just like your hands :P Add the eyelets and lace it on.
