This quilt is from a pattern that I have modified and expanded, it was originally 3ft square and ended up 9ft long and 6 foot wide. I added hidden features relating to my father career, beams and hammers windows and tea pots. It was a pleasure to make this for his birthday, I worked on it for a year. The house detail features are done in beads, glass and embroidery, I used silver thread for spider web highlights. I love quilting. Lucky my niece is over 6ft tall, at least she can hold it up for me. The border is actually the outline of a terrace house common in Australia, I am very proud of this quilt and my father.
