Description

I saw an adorable memo clip at Aaron Brothers and I was about to buy it when I realized I could make my own for FREE!!!!!!!

Instructions

Find your old hair clips. I think these ones are called alligator clips. I used to wear these when I was a little girl so they are super cutesy :)

  2. Small dscn0717 1281488352

Get bunch of pipe cleaners. I used these short ones and I used three of them.

Ok. This step is kind of annoying, so you should do it when you are watching TV or waiting for something. What you do is you figure out which way the pipe cleaner untwists. It may take a couple of tries. I usually cut some of the fuzz off first so I can see it. Then, when the wires have been loosened, you can pull off the fuzz. An easier way to do this is to just go buy some wire. I just didn't have any and didn't want to get off my lazy butt to buy some.

So when you have your three fuzzless pipe cleaners you want to twist them together so they will be nice and strong.

Later, you're going to stick the hair clip onto the wire so you might want to try it out first, just to make sure you can do it. It's kind of tricky, but with a bunch of shoving and poking it will eventually stay. But then you have to take it off before you bake it :( and then put it on again :( :(

Now for the base. I kind of modeled my base after Bump Beads (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/bump_beads) by Cat Morley but you can really do anything you want. First I made a ball.

Then I made the little bumps and stuck them all over.

Then I stuck the wire into the base and baked the whole thing in the oven at 275 for about 13-15 minutes.

After it is baked, I brushed on my favorite thing in the world. Gloss glaze!!! It makes it look really finished and awesome. Let it dry for 24 hours, or whatever the label says.

Then stick the hair clip on it and you are done!!!!! Put a picture in it and put it on your desk and show it off to everyone!!!!!
