This is a cute little headband inspired by one I saw at a really neat store. I was going to buy it, but I then realized that I could just make one! So I'm going to! Yay!

First, you need a rectangular piece of some soft and pliable fabric. Mine is 20" by 5".
Next, hem each side of the piece of fabric.
Next, on the short sides of the rectangle, sew two running stitches. (For best results, set your sewing machine to create the widest stitches possible.) Do not cut the excess thread that will pop up at either end of the seam. You will need this thread for the next step.
Now, find the loose threads at each end of the two stitches.
Now, you're going to pull the loose threads at each end of the fabric to create a gathered look.
Get out your elastic now. The gathered fabric should be the same width as the elastic.
Now sew each end of the elastic to each gathered edge of the fabric. Make sure to fold the outside edges of the fabric inward and under.
Now just cut all your loose threads and you're done!
