Curtain Tie Back Cushion
A basic cushion idea, while up-cycling some unwanted tie-backs.

About
My mother-in-law didn't want the tie-backs for her new curtains so I reclaimed them & paired them with some plain, similarly-coloured material, and made a cushion with them as a present for her.
It was my first foray into cushion-making so it probably took me longer than seasoned crafters. But it really did cost almost nothing, the brand new material I used was only £2.70 & the 50x50cm cushion was only £1.50 (both from Ikea).

I measured & cut out my plain material as a base for the cushion I had & set up my sewing machine ready.

I unpicked the tie-backs, took out the stiffening material inside, & removed the rings, leaving me with four pieces instead of two.
I then cut down each piece to cushion length. -

I started sewing it all together. My cheap mini sewing machine struggled with some of the thicker parts, so I did some by hand.
I intending to put something fragrant inside (maybe lavender?) but I forgot & by the time I remembered all edges were sewn up!
