I love using found objects to make art, so making a valentine with sticks seemed like a no brainer! This is a ridiculously easy tutorial and only takes the time for the hot glue gun to heat up.
I love using found objects to make art, so making a valentine with sticks seemed like a no brainer! This is a ridiculously easy tutorial and only takes the time for the hot glue gun to heat up.
Your "ingredients"
Cut out little tags from your red felt.
Make incisions into them, leaving the middle intact, to make them look like feathers. I also took a triangular chunk out of the bottom to give them a more "arrow" look.
Cut some hearts out of card stock.
Hot glue the "feathers" to one end of the stick.
Hot glue the "arrow heads" to the other end of the stick. Make sure that the point of the heart points outward so that it looks like a proper arrow.
THIS PART IS TOTALLY OPTIONAL I decided to add a meaningful message to my arrow so I wrote it out on a small piece of paper, leaving a little extra length on one side of the paper so that I could hot glue it to the body of the stick. Then I rolled it up and tied it with some red embroidery thread.
And voila! You're done! Now you just have to give it to your valentine, or you could go the full nine yards and hire a chubby baby in a diaper to shoot it at them.
