For my boxes I have used a round wooden box from a doller store and a round peanut box. This project takes around 20 minutes to make, but you will have to wait a day or so for it to dry.
For my boxes I have used a round wooden box from a doller store and a round peanut box. This project takes around 20 minutes to make, but you will have to wait a day or so for it to dry.
First find a round box. If you are using a box that had food in it, wash it out and dry it. You also need white silicone, you can find this at hardwear stores, a plastic knife and beads. Long thin beads work best, becuase they look like real sprinkles, but you can use any kind. You might want a little peice of foam or clay that is smaller then your lid, this is so when you put the sisicone on it uses less, but it looks like the "icing" is all the way through.
Take you lid off your box. It's best to set it on some paper or plastic so you don't get anything on the floor. If you are using a little container then glue it onto the lid or use the silicone to stick it on. ( For mine I used an apple sause container and on my second one I used clay)
Squirt the silicone over the top of your lid your container.
Spread it around with your knife so you can't see the top of the lid or the container.
Push the beads in the silicone. It's best if you can make it so that you can't see the holes in the beads.
Wait a day for the silicone to dry
If your not sure if its ready or not, stick a pin or a toothpick in the silicone. If it comes out clean, its ready, if it comes out white, leave it for a few more hours.
While you are waiting you can start on the bottem part. If you are using a box with a wrapper on it, take off the wrapper or glue a peice of white paper over it. Get a brown crayon or pencil crayon and color the box in a light brown or cream to look like the batter.
Use a marker of the same color or the same crayon to make dark lines to look like the cupcake liner thing.
If you find a box that is small enough to fit in a real cupcake liner, you could glue one to the box. These make cute gifts and look awesome!
