Description

Who says guys can't have plushies? It's acceptable if its manly, right? Well, here's a gaming themed pillow plushie for my boyfriend, a huge Legend of Zelda fan.

Instructions

  1. You need to crochet 12 yellow equilateral triangles, and 4 black ones. To do this, you need to chain 21 stitches. Single crochet (sc) into the second stitch from the hook, and all along your chain until you have 20 stitches. Chain 1, turn and sc into the second stitch from the hook (here you have decreased), sc all the way along until there are 2 stitches left. Here you will decrease once again and you will now have 18 stitches. Chain 1, turn and sc back along (18) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end where you decrease again (16) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (16) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (14) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (14) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (12) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (10) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (10) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (8) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (6) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (6) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (4) Chain 1, turn and sc back along (4) Chain 1, turn and decrease, continue to single crochet along to the end, decrease again (2) Chain 1, turn and decrease (1) Begin to single crochet all along the outer edges of the triangle to make them much neater. Break off here and you have a triangle (as seen in the pictures above). Make 12 yellow and 4 black as instructed earlier.

  2. Here you will begin to sew them together. You need to sew one yellow triangle to each of the edges of a black triangle. As a result, you should have 4 large triangle faces made up of 3 yellow and 1 black each (as seen in the pictures above). Lining the edge of this triangle in black looks nice, so I single crocheted all along the outer edges of each triangle with black yarn.

  3. You must sew these faces together in the shape of a triangular pyramid (a pyramid with a triangular base). Before sewing it up completely, you may wish to turn it inside out for the sake of the stitching being inside (making it look a little neater). Stuff before sealing, then sew up completely.

  4. Now comes the black marker. If you're as sloppy as me, you might have used the wrong colour cotton to sew it up, and it might show, or your black lining might be a bit wobbly and untidy. Using the black marker, you can colour in the stitches so that they don't show, and I even cheat a little here and there, colouring in the yellow yarn to tidy up my lining a bit. There you go, its done. A lovely, cuddly triforce
