yarn in white, the colors you need for the tops (varies with the type of mushroom) and a tiny amount of black
G Hook
Fiberfill
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends

You Will Need (2 things)

Steps (16 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

    Round 1. 8 sc in magic ring (8)

    NOTE: If you don't know how to make a magic ring you can view step by step instructions on how to make one. http://www.crochetme.com/forums/p/28917/90379.aspx

    Round 2. 2 sc in each sc around (16)

  3. 3

    Round 3. sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (24)

  4. 4

    Rounds 4-7: sc in each sc around f/o white (24)

    NOTES: This is going to be the bottom part. If you want the bottom to be bigger then make a few rounds of SC. After you finish off you can sew in your tails.

    Now the top part

    Round 8: Take your contrasting color for your top and make 2 sc in Front Loops Only of each sc crochet around (48)

    Round 9: sc in each stitch around (48)

  7. 7

    Round 10: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (60)

  8. 8

    Rounds 11-13: sc in each sc around (60)

    NOTE: It will start to look like a tiny hat with a wide brim, but to get worried it will start to take shape as you work along.

    Rounds 14: sc in next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (50)

    Round 15: sc in each sc around (50)

  11. 11

    Round 16: sc in next 3 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (40)

  12. 12

    Round 17: sc in each sc around (40)

  13. 13

    Round 18: sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (30)

    When you get here you will want to start adding some fiber fill, as you add it start shaping your mushroom.

    Round 19: sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc around (20)

  15. 15

    Round 20: dec over next 2 sc around (10)

    When you finish this round, you will want to take your hook and push down your fiber fill. You will want to keep adding fiber fill until your mushroom is shaped and firm.

    Once you have it all filled, take a long piece of yarn and whip stitch the top closed. as you whip stitch it pull the yarn and the whole will start to close up.

    Spots:

    Using white (or alternate color):

    Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring
    Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)

    you will want to make 5 of these. When you get them all made you will want to sew one at the very top and place the other 4 evenly around the mushroom.
