I was originally going to make Hello Kitty as a bunny but saw a picture of her dressed as a mouse and thought it was too cute!

My daughter will still get this for Easter though.

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Yarn in White, Purple, Pink, Black
  • Doll Eyes
  • Felt in Yellow
  • Thread in Yellow
  • Polyester Stuffing

Steps (7 steps, 180 minutes)

  1. 1

    Abbreviations:
    sc: Single Crochet
    ch: Chain
    st: Stitch
    Rnd(s): Round(s)
    2tog: Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into
    next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over though all 3 loops on
    hook. (decrease)
    *: Repeat stitches from * to end of *

    Head:
    With white yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 st)
    Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st (10 st)
    Rnd 3: *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat from * (15 st)
    Rnd 4: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 2 st*, repeat from * (20 st)
    Rnd 5: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 3 st*, repeat from * (25 st)
    Rnd 6: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 4 st*, repeat from * (30 st)
    Rnds 7-12: Sc in each st around (30 st)
    Rnd 13: *2tog, Sc in next 4 st*, repeat from * (25 st)
    Rnd 14: *2tog, Sc in next 3 st*, repeat from * (20 st)
    Rnd 15: *2tog, Sc in next 2 st*, repeat from * (15 st)
    Fasten off, don’t leave a tail for sewing.
    Attach eyes.
    Cut out an oval from yellow felt, to create nose.
    Using yellow thread, sew nose.
    Using black yarn, sew whiskers.
    Stuff firmly.

    Hood:
    With purple yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 st)
    Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st (10 st)
    Rnd 3: *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat from * (15 st)
    Rnd 4: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 2 st*, repeat from * (20 st)
    Rnd 5: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 3 st*, repeat from * (25 st)
    Rnd 6: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 4 st*, repeat from * (30 st)
    Rnds 7-14: Sc in each st around (30 st)
    Fasten off, don’t leave a tail for sewing.
    Place hood on head.

    Ears: (you will need to make 2)
    With pink yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 st)
    Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st (10 st)
    Rnd 3: With purple yarn, Sc in each st around (10 st)
    Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. (about 6")
    Attach ears to top of hood.

    Body:
    With purple yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 st)
    Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st (10 st)
    Rnd 3: *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat from * (15 st)
    Rnd 4: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 2 st*, repeat from * (20 st)
    Rnd 5: *2 sc in 1st st, Sc in next 3 st*, repeat from * (25 st)
    Rnds 6-14: Sc in each st around (25 st)
    Rnd 15: *2tog, Sc in next 3 st*, repeat from * (20 st)
    Rnd 16: *2tog, Sc in next 2 st*, repeat from * (15 st)
    Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. (about 10")
    Stuff firmly.
    Sew open end of body to bottom of head.
    Flatten bottom of body so that doll can stand on it's own.

    Arms: (you will need to make 2)
    With white yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook (8 st)
    Rnd 2-9: Sc in each st around (8 st)
    Fasten off, leave a tail sewing. (about 6")
    Stuff lightly.
    Attach arms where head meets the body.

  6. 6

    Legs: (you will need to make 2)
    With purple yarn, Ch 2
    Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 st)
    Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st (10 st)
    Rnd 3-5: Sc in each sc around (10 st)
    Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. (about 6")
    Stuff lightly.
    Attach legs to front of body.

  7. 7

    Tail:
    With purple yarn, Ch 20
    2nd Row: Sc in each st (20 st)
    Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. (about 6")
    Attach tail to back of body.
