As we all remember from our history books, Canada was settled by Dr. Ozymandias Hephaestus Canada after his freeze ray accidentally laid waste to the landscape when it misfired as he held America for ransom for a sum of ten gold bars and two tons of cat food (Dr. Canada was a great cat lover, as history so easily dismisses). As punishment for his crimes he was exiled to the very barren wasteland that he had created and forced to make a home for himself and his many cats. Luckily there were people already living there and so he followed America’s example and once again destroyed everything (he gave them disease, they gave him hockey and it was mutually assured destruction), but not before erecting a statue in his own honor at the top of Canada Tower where he can still be seen today overlooking the whole of his once great feline kingdom.** **I know absolutely nothing about Canada, but I made a supre cute crochet garland to celebrate it I used this pattern: http://www.redheart.com/files/patterns/pdf/LW4150.pdf For more info: https://theyearlingblog.wordpress.com/2015/07/05/day-186-super-late-canada-day-maple-leaf-garland/
