Just a warning, do not try to do this all in one day. My hands are bleeding, emotionally speaking, from doing my best to finish everything in a timely manor. Take a weekend and go about it lazily. This is also a pretty rough pattern that I’m trying to work all of the kinks out of so if you end up making it for your 32 oz growler please let me know how you like it. I’m always up for criticism, especially if it helps me improve.

This pattern worked perfectly for my growler, but if you’ve got a bigger one then feel free to do things differently.) Row 47: *1 sc, 1 dc, 1 tc, 1 dc, 1 sc* all the way around, ch 25 sl st into same st to create loop, break off and weave in ends (54) (This bit won’t come out perfectly, but that’s alright you’re really just looking to give your edge texture. I actually folded mine over so that it would look like it was spilling over a bit) Handle: Ch 5, sc in second chain from hook and all the way across (4) Row 1-25: Sc all across, ch 1, turn, break off leaving long tail to sew onto stein (4) Construction: Sew on handle just below where you’ve made your loop using the long tails that you’ve left on your handle. Sew button onto the stein next to the loop you created.
This is only the second pattern I’ve ever made myself, and for the most part I just sort of crocheted and attempted to keep track of everything as I went along. As I mentioned above, there is a real chance that this will have some problems, and I fully intend to recreate this cozy using exclusively this pattern just to make sure that it makes sense, but for now I really love the way that this turned out. It looks exactly the way that I pictured it in my head and Alex loved it when I showed him the finished product. It’s also great because it adds another layer of protection from damaging UV rays which can harm your beer, so this cozy keeps your beer safe as well as cool.
