I've never crafted for a baby before but when our awesome friends gave birth, I couldn't resist making a pair of booties for their son.

You Will Need (4 things)
- 3 ½ mm Crochet Hook
- White Yarn
- Yarn in red, black, blue or your favourite colour of Converse
- Yarn Needle
Steps (10 steps, 120 minutes)

Soles (Make 2)
Chain 12.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd chain, dc in next 8 chains, 6 dc in the next chain, dc in next 8 chains, 5 dc in next chain and join with a slip stitch.
Row 2: Chain 1, dc in next 9 chains, 2 dc in next 5 chains, dc in next 9 chains, 2 dc in next 5 chains and join with a slip stitch.
Row 3: Chain 1, dc in next 8 chain. 2 dc in next chain, dc in next chain and repeat until the end of the row. Join with a slip stitch. -

Starting at the front left of the shoe, slip stitch into the middle 8 stitches.
Row 1: chain 1, turn and then 2 dc into the next 7 stitches, joining the last stitch to the sole with a slip stitch.
Rows 2 - 8: chain 1, turn, skip the next chain and dc into the next 14 stitches, joining the last stitch to the sole with a slip stitch. -

Slip stitch into the next chain of the sole and slip stitch around the back of the sole until you reach the front of the shoe, join with a slip stitch.
Rows 1 - 8: Chain 1, turn, DC into each chain along the back of the shoe.
Rows 9 - 12: DC2tog, DC in each stitch until you reach the other side of the front of the shoe, DC2tog, DC along the front of the shoe.
Cast off. -

Make two shoes.

Toe caps: (Make 2)
Chain 7, turn, chain 1, sc into 7, tie off with a long tail.

Using a yarn needle, stitch the toe caps to the bottom front of the shoes.

Laces:
Chain 40 and tie off, leaving a small tail at either side. Stitch the lace to the middle of the shoe.

Fold either side of the lace up the shoe in a zig zag pattern, stitching at either corner.

Tie the laces into a bow.

Converse Circle: (Make 2)
Chain 3, join with slip stitch.
SC 8 into the ring.
Tie off leaving a long tail
Stitch at either side on the back of the shoes and you're done!
