I've been doing this project for awhile and thought I would share! It's an easy way to reuse all of those cheap Halloween rings. I make these to braid into my hair because I'm creepy. e--e Second photo: Beads in action~! PIRATE HAIR >O

Really, you can choose any shape you like to make these beads they're eaaaasy. The amount of time used is only relative to how many you want to make/how detailed you are. I made these a while ago and they hold pretty strong. I picked a more off-white bead to glue my skulls onto because after a few of them have sat for a while, they've turned more of a cream color, so I'm kind of.. thinking ahead, I guess. I would suggest matching your pony beads to your rings.

Carefully with your scissors, cut the little ring off as close to the main sculpted part of the ring as possible.

Carefully put a drop or two of hot glue on the back of the shape - I usually put mine towards the assumed metal - and cautiously push a pony bead into the hot glue. Press it firmly, but try to keep a thin layer of glue between the bead and the shape. I like to keep the hole facing up and down, but you could turn the bead so the hole is horizontal for other projects.

Now to the silly part. I used a watercolor in burnt sienna to do my shading for these. Honestly, you can totally skip this step, but I wanted these to look a little realistic 'cause I like pirates? Anyways, watercolor isn't really the beeeest choice, especially if you want to leave these in for a while because the paint will wash off when you take a shower! =D As far as technique, shade into the nooks and crannies sculpted into the ring. Just remember to look at them from far away, because it may look crappy and bubbly up close but amaaazing from far away. Don't be afraid to play with it!

Let them dry and voila! Braid them into your hair, use them in your fake dreads or in wigs, make Halloween garlands, whatever you like. If they ever come apart, just peel off the old glue and reattach! Hope you had fun~
