Cowgirl-themed chocolate cake

This was a fun cake to make for a lady who was visiting the hunting lodge that I worked at. Her name was Cat so I just substituted her name for the famed Calamity "Jane".

You Will Need (8 things)
- 1 oz White Chocolate
- 2 oz Milk Chocolate
- 1 oz Dark Chocolate
- 3 Ziploc Bag
- 3 Sauce Pan
- Picture (s)for template (optional)
- 1 roll of Wax Paper
- Cowgirl-themed Images
Steps (6 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Begin by finding some simple drawings of cowgirls on the internet that you can print.
-
2
Next, melt white, dark and milk chocolate in a sauce pan. (I am sure you could substitute the microwave if you prefer.)
-
3
Pour the melted chocolate into 3 ziploc bags and cut a tiny hole in the point of the bags. (If you need other colors than just the white and dark then you can add food coloring paste to the white chocolate.)
-
4
Lay your image under the wax paper (parchment works well also) and begin tracing your image by slowly squeezing the chocolate out of the bag. (Do not make the chocolate layer too thin or else it will melt too easily at room temperature.)
-
5
Allow the chocolate to set before carefully picking up the completed image using a large, flat spatula (to keep the chocolate from warping)and transfering to the refrigerator or freezer until ready to place on the cake.

The guns along the side will not conform to your cake if you are making a circular one as I did. I was worried about that but once completed I really enjoyed that touch because it looked as though the guns were being fired into the air.
I did not have much notice for this cake so there aren't many details. I think that licorice for a rodeo rope would look really cute or shredded wheat for her dress fringe would also be a nice touch. Also, I should mention that I had to cut and paste several pictures together to achieve my final image.
I hope you enjoyed my cake!
