I work at a theme park and work with DC Comic superhero actors. A lot of them have become close friends. My friend Bill makes superhero costumes for commissions and gave me the idea of being a superhero that was my body type and something that fit my personality, cue POWERGIRL. I knew I was not in the best shape for a leotard as her original costume is so I did a pin up version of it. I am addicted to the 40s pin up look. Bill had an extra red cape and added the yellow braid to it. He made the gloves for me, which was a difficulty for him due to never making a costume for a female with very small hands. The base of the outfit was a small white halter top dress that was a size too small for me to add to the bust area. To get the signature turtleneck look with the bust peek a boo i bought a white tight turtleneck and cut out the bust hole. For the shoes, as you can see in the pictures the boots were black leather so I spray painted the boots with a matted royal blue spray paint. I think it was pretty good for my first big project. :D
