Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Your favorite ice cream combined with your favorite cookie dough. ;)

About

I really love vanilla ice cream with cookie dough. But the other day I couldn't find any at my local supermarket, so I decided to give it a try and make my own ice cream. Well, actually the ice cream itself isn't selfmade, because I don't have an ice cream maker. But this way you can combine your favorite ice cream with your favorite cookie dough. I used vanilla ice cream, cookie dough with a little bit cinnamon and nougat-chocolate shreds. I guess other flavors work as well - I'm planning on trying strawberry ice cream with chocolate cookie dough for example. ;)

You Will Need (8 things)

  • 200 g Sugar
  • 100 g Nougat Chocolate
  • 100 g Nougat Chocolate
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Sugar
  • 200 g Flour
  • 200 g Butter
  • 2000 ml Vanilla Ice Cream

Steps (15 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather your ingredients together. You can use any flavor of ice cream you like and you can put anything you like into your cookie dough or use another chocolate, put some nuts into the ice cream,....

  2. 2

If you have cats and your kitchen scales stands open on the table, check it before you start measuring - they may have left some hairs in it...

  3. 3

    Measure: 200g flour, 200g sugar, 200g butter.

  4. 4

Mix together flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon.

  5. 5

Cut butter in little pieces and add to the mixture.

  6. 6

Use your hands! Knead until you have a nice, sticky cookie dough. ( You don't have to wear gloves, I only do because my skin gets itchy from the cookie dough.)
Taste the cookie dough ( it's really yummy), but don't eat it all up ;)

  7. 7

Form a ball from the cookie dough. It should look like this. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for about an hour.

  8. 8

Cut the nougat chocolate into little shreds.

  9. 9

Cut or break the cookie dough to chunks.

  10. 10

Time to get your ice cream out of the freezer! Of course, if you have an ice cream maker, you can make your own ice cream.

  11. 11

Start mixing ice cream and chocolate shreds together in a bowl. You don't have to take all of the ice cream at once.

  12. 12

Now add the cookie dough chunks to the ice cream mixture. The mixing can be a bit tricky, cause you really have a whole lot of ice cream. It's best to use a really big bowl. Mine wasn't that big, as you can see, so I had to do it little by little.

  13. 13

Fill the ice cream back into its package and...

  14. 14

...put it back into the freezer! It's best to leave it there over night or at least a few hours.

  15. 15

Most important step: Enjoy your ice cream! :)
