Description

The base of these cookies has a deep chocolate, brownie like flavor. Add on an eggless cookie dough inspired glaze and you've got the best of both worlds! Doesn't hurt that they're also fewer than 55 calories a piece!

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. In a small bowl, combine applesauce, butter, egg and vanilla

  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine brown sugar, white sugar, cocoa powder, white flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir to combine. Batter will be more wet than your traditional cookie dough

  5. Grease a baking sheet. Separate batter into 12 equal portions, spaced about an inch apart on the prepared sheet. Press down lightly to flatten the cookies slightly

  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the bottoms are solid and browned and the tops are beginning to crack

  7. Remove to a wire cooling rack and cool to room temperature

  8. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine brown sugar, white flour and salt. Stir in vanilla extract and marshmallow fluff

  9. Gently fold in whipped topping until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips

  10. Spread glaze evenly over cooled cookies. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week
