Prepare yourself to be bombarded by people always asking you, "Where did you get your wallet?"
Cut a prototype size of your wallet from a regular 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper. Once you've a size you like, trace it onto your cardboard (marking where the two folds will be) and cut out. *note: the cardboard should be the variety found in cereal boxes, shoe boxes or yes, even your garden variety beer box will work.
Carefully use your exacto knife to score the two fold lines on the "outside" edge of the wallet. This releases the folds so the tendency of the wallet is to fold properly.
Bust out your Modge Podge and decorate your wallet. Use multiple layers, avoid going over the wallet folds i.e. treat each panel as its own entity. Use several final coats, letting each one dry in between or use your hair dryer on cool if you are into speed-crafting.
Create 4-5 credit card sized pieces of paper, adding an inch length and width wise to accommodate the room you use when affixing them. These serve eventually as your card holders. Collage them, knowing that most will be hidden except for the bottom piece. Use multiple final coats of Modge Podge to make them sturdy.
Choose the panel where they will sit in your wallet and start at the top. Affix the first card by gluing the bottom 1/2" down and then fix the sides by using a small strip of your colored duct tape. Place the second piece below it, allowing for enough room for a credit card to not overlap the top pieces opening... rinse and repeat until you've affixed your final piece. If you want added security, glue AND add a small strip of duct tape at the bottom of each piece.
Now for the money pocket baby! Ohh yeah... Double back one full strip of duct tape on itself to make approx 3", x 2. Accordion these length wise, set between a few heavy books and leave for a bit.
Using regular paper, cut out whatever size money pocket you desire (understand that this is a simple flat face that will attach to the duct tape accordion pieces you just created). Collage this sucker, adding multiple layers of Modge Podge to finish. Choose a panel, tape your money pocket face piece to the accordion edges with duct tape, then tape the sides and bottom to the chosen panel.
Now for the finish line... Use small strips of duct tape all around the wallet edges and on both sides of the folds. Affix a small piece of velcro so the wallet closes as you like. And.... voilà! Let it dry over night and then go strut your stuff.
