We couldn't resist making a scissors star for the top of our tree at CO+K.
We couldn't resist making a scissors star for the top of our tree at CO+K.
Start by tracing around the CO+K scissors logo on to paper, using a computer in the background as a lightbox (it's a nifty technique which works really well) and then cut this out as your template.
Use small dots of blu-tack to stick the template underneath a sheet of frosted plastic. You can find plastic sheets like this in stationery stores such as Paperchase.
Cut around the template, using a pair of heavy duty scissors.
Stick your plastic scissors underneath a new sheet of plastic and use this as the template to cut your second pair.
You should now have two pairs of plastic scissors.
Cut long strips of thick black card measuring 2" wide.
Bend the black card around the scissors, scoring along the folds.
Use a hot glue gun to stick the black card around the outside of the scissors. Don't worry if it looks messy, you can pick excess glue off when you're finished.
Continue around the outside until your finished and then stick card around the inside of the finger holes.
Cut a small rectangle out of the bottom of the scissors with a cutting knife.
Slip some fairy light inside the scissors and place on top of your tree!
