A sugary-coconutty-candy! You'll love it if you're a sweet tooth person :)
Take a pot or a bowl and mix the desiccated coconut with sugar (500mg). Leave the mixture for an hour or so. After an hour the desiccated coconut will absorb the sugar (partly). You may add rest of the 500 mg sugar now or add it while stirring
Take a pot, preferably heavy, with a round bottom and add the mixture (coconut and sugar) into the pot. Stir the coconut-sugar mixture using medium heat, make sure it doesn't turn brown. After a while add the peanuts, raisins and mix them very well Keep stirring the mixture until it becomes sticky (this might take more than 15 minutes in medium heat). If the mixture becomes dry you might need to add a little amount of water, otherwise it won't become sticky. You can also add food coloring.
You have to be very careful and quick in this step, because the sugar syrup is very tricky. The sugar syrup becomes thick and hard very quickly, so you have to be very quick in shaping the sweets into whatever shape you want. Take a square tray with at least 1 inch of depth and cover it with foil paper.
Pour the coconut-sugar mixture into the tray and cut them into square shapes with a knife. I sprinkled a little colored coconut-sugar mixture over the white one. After cutting them into square shapes wait until it's chilled. After a while the coconut-sugar sweet will become thick and hard. Carefully take the square pieces out of the tray and serve.
You can make shapes using hands or shape cutters. I made round coconut sweets using my hands (the mixture was sooo hot I couldn't make much), and also made heart shaped coconut sweets using shape cutters. If you can't tolerate heat then it's better to use shape cutters or tray and knife. Enjoy!
