Close Fitting Ipod Case

A very easy way to do an Ipod case~

About

Since I'm not really careful, I wanted a little pouch for when I listen to my Ipod and it is in my pocket, but I couldn't find what I want, so I decided to make one with felt (who is probably less solid than the one I was looking for, but nevermind). I don't know if Close-fitting is the right word...please forgive my mistakes, explaining in english is not that easy for me, because I'm french; but even if it's my first tutorial, I think it will be easy to understand because it's really easy to do. Hope you'll like it!

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Piece(s) of Felt
  • Super Glue
  • Stuffs like Button(s) , lace...
  • Thread
  • Flexible Plastic (For example the one you use to cover books)

Steps (9 steps, 15 minutes)

  1. 1

Let's start! Take your piece of felt and fold it. Then draw the outlines of your Ipod, but not to close from the side. The width depends on how you want to sew the case.

  2. 2

    Cut your pieces.

  3. 3

On the piece where you draw the outlines, draw the screen and the muller.

  4. 4

Then, cut and chek if it fits.

  5. 5

Cut a piece of plastic wider than the screen, but not too wide or you'll have to sew on. The thicker plastic might be the best, otherwise it may get folded, but I don't know if a flexible but thick plastic is esay to find.

  6. 6

    Glue the plastic.

  7. 7

Now it's time to pimp your case! Add lace, glue some felt shapes, add some stickers on the plastic...but not to much or it won't be easy to put the case in your pocket. I chose to glue a bat (yes, it's a bat) on the back of the case.

Sew the two pieces of felt. You can use a sewing machine or not, it's up to you. You just need to care about the width and make it as close to your ipod as possible. Drawing the outlines with a erasable chalk can be a good idea. And if you are smarter than me, you can make a little hole on the top of the case, for the button.

You're done! Congratulations :) Now, what about doing a case for each colour of the rainbow, to fit with your outfit?
