You Will Need (6 things)
- Egg Carton
- Air Dry Clay
- Decoupage Paper
- Decoupage Glue
- Paint Brush
- Toothbrush
Steps (11 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Start off with one of your regular egg cartons. If you usually buy a dozen, go for a big box, or if you don't get through that many, pick a smaller one.
-
2
Cut the lid off the top of the carton and place to one side.
-
3
Break off small chunks of clay and mould them into the bottom of the egg carton.
-
4
Continue this until you've covered the whole egg carton, keeping the thickness even across the whole tray.
-
5
Leave the clay to harden for a few days.
-
6
Peel the paper carton away to reveal the clay carton underneath. Use a toothbrush to scrub away any difficult areas where the carton is stuck.
-
7
Pick out some decoupage paper to line the carton with.
-
8
Working in small sections, brush the inside of the carton with decoupage glue, tear off small squares of decoupage paper and stick them down, overlapping each other a little.
-
9
Add second layer and a third if it needs it and then paint the top with a layer of decoupage glue.
-
10
Leave the glue to dry overnight.
-
11
Fill with eggs and you're all done.
