I made these reindeer from an idea from a craft pack in Lidl stores. Originally they were just going to be for Christmas decorations but then I thought I would create them into place names for my big Christmas family dinner.

Get a simple reindeer template like this one and draw round and cut out two, one on brown card and the other on corrugated brown card.
Next make the reindeer's cosy jumper. these are my templates, cut out one of each, one for the front, one for back in a colourful patterned paper or material and stick to the reindeer's body. You can then make a scarf from felt to wrap around the reindeer's neck. Then stick some eyes on, I used seed beads, or you could use googly eyes or just draw them on.
Next make the base for reindeer to stand in. This can be tricky as it needs to be very firm. Cut out an appropriate sized rectangle in white corrugated cardboard or something similar, this is my template, it's wonky because of my scanner! Fold it to a triangle shape, with a base. At the top where the two sides meet cut slits in so you can push the reindeer feet in.
Next stick the base on to some green card to make the reindeer stand up more firmly. You may need to fiddle around a bit here as I found it hard to get the reindeer to stand up straight, cocktail sticks are a good idea. Then you can either write your names on or print them off the computer. and ta da it's finished!
