This is a quick and easy way to recycle old computer discs into something little one's can make and be proud to give a works of art to relatives. We did this when my son was younger and his Grandma has one of these hanging from her lamp year round.
This is a quick and easy way to recycle old computer discs into something little one's can make and be proud to give a works of art to relatives. We did this when my son was younger and his Grandma has one of these hanging from her lamp year round.
You start with an old 3 1/2 in. floppy disc. The actual decorating takes little time, the longest time is the drying time for the glue and decorations.
Decorate one side of the disc however you would like and let it dry. In this case the center of the disc is an "ornament" and two and the year it was done is written on the metal part. NOTE: If you are going to use sequins/glitter on one side, is best to decorate the side that you are not going to put sequins or glitter on first.
Once the one side is dry, you can decorate the other side. In this case we cut down a photo of my son, glued it to the disc then glued sequins on both side of the picture then let it dry.
Once you are done decorating the disc, thread a piece of ribbion of scrap of fabric through the hole in the upper edge of the disc, then tie a knot at the upper edge. It is then tree ready and ready to give as a present or decorate your tree!
