I like to make personalized cards to give out, and I always start them early. I actually had this idea for last year, but I tried with water color and a different picture and it didn't work well. To make them I decided how much of the card I wanted to leave white, then I taped it off and painted the rest a wood look, when it was done I glued on a picture I drew for it after it was painted and cut out. Then I used a thin sharpie to outline and a regular sharpie to add the names.

First choose what you want the background of your card, I like a wood texture look for this one.
Next find a image you like or draw one, this is one I drew for the cards. I used to transfer it to some paper to paint and glue on, but for this card I just transfered directly to the card to paint.
Once the card is painted finish it off any way you want and either write the person's name on the card, or some christmas message.
Write a nice message on the inside the best you can and then your card is done.
