Instructions

  1. Follow recipe for dough: 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter softened 1/2 cup brown sugar (or white sugar or half sugar, half honey, whatever really!) 1 egg AND 1 egg yolk (reserve the egg white) 1/4 tsp Vanilla Cream butter, sugar and egg together with vanilla. Mix all together till nice and pliable (and, well dough like ;) If dough is a bit sticky and hard to work with, thats ok, put it in the fridge for 30 - 60 minutes.

  2. Take your pecan pieces and cut or break in halves. Arrange 5 half pieces of pecan into a star shape.

Take your dough (make sure its easy to work with). Take a table spoon and roll into a ball. Dip bottom in left over egg whites (from when you separated your egg). Squish dough ball onto pecan star. Thats one turtle down! Repeat steps 3 and 4 still you use all your dough.

  4. Make as many turtles as dough you have by repeating steps 2 and 3!
