Make your own Chocolate Orange Bark

Chocolate bark is one of the simplest things to make. There are lots of different variations but I wanted to first introduce the classic, chocolate orange. This is great to make on your own, with children or with friends. The bark looks so pretty, it could even form a gift for someone on a special occasion.

Instructions

  1. Small 2019 04 02 195954 20190317 181011 1140x1140

Line a small, shallow baking tin with greaseproof paper.

  2. Small 2019 04 02 200006 20190317 181057 1140x1123

Break the milk chocolate and put into a heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water. Do the same with the white chocolate in a separate bowl. Place the pans on the hob over a low heat.

  3. Small 2019 04 02 200025 20190317 181123 1140x1140

When the white chocolate is melted, remove from the heat and stir in the orange extract. Add a small amount of orange gel food colouring and stir thoroughly. I used red and yellow as I forgot to purchase orange!

  4. Small 2019 04 02 200029 20190317 181154 1140x1148

When the milk chocolate is melted, remove from the heat and pour into the tin.

  5. Small 2019 04 02 200044 20190317 181220 1140x1140

Spoon the white chocolate over the milk chocolate.

  6. Small 2019 04 02 200056 20190317 181240 1140x1119

Using a cocktail stick or a slim knife, swirl the orange white chocolate into the milk chocolate. Set in the fridge for 30 minutes – 1 hour. This will depend on how thick your chocolate bark is.

Once set, break into pieces and enjoy!
