Chocolate Mug Cake

Quick and easy microwave chocolate cake!

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Butter Or Oil
  • Water Or Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder (omit if you prefer a denser, more brownie-like cake)

Steps (5 steps, 300 minutes)

    In a large mug, mix together the melted butter, water and vanilla extract with a fork.

    Add the sugar and cocoa powder, and mix well until no lumps remain.

    Finally, add the flour and baking powder, and mix again until smooth.

    Microwave for 60 seconds, then check. If you don’t want the middle to be gooey, microwave for another 20-30 seconds.

    90 seconds should be enough, but if you have a lower powered microwave heat further in 15 second blasts until the middle is cooked, taking care not to burn the outsides.

    Grab a spoon, and enjoy!

    This is great topped with some ice-cream or frozen yoghurt. I’m sure whipped cream and marshmallows would be another lovely alternative.
