Yummy chocolate cupcakes with a surprise centre. Great for a sweet treat or special occasion. This project describes a recipe for 12 large cupcakes (cut ingredients in half for smaller cakes/batch).
Yummy chocolate cupcakes with a surprise centre. Great for a sweet treat or special occasion. This project describes a recipe for 12 large cupcakes (cut ingredients in half for smaller cakes/batch).
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Mix the butter and sugar together thoroughly until creamy; then add the eggs. Once combined add the other ingredients and mix. Place approximately 2 table spoons of mixture in to each of the large cupcake cases and bake until ready (usually about 18 minutes but can vary with oven type. A knife/skewer can be used to check if cooked through – place into the middle of the cupcake; if it comes out clear the cakes are ready).
Once the cupcakes have cooled, use a knife or apple corer to remove the middle portion of the cupcake (Keep these for later!)
Using a spoon or pipeing bag, fill the core with caramel sauce. Then using the top part of the pre-removed core; use these as lids.
Finally, pipe or spread chocolate ganache on top to decorate. For extra special occasions, you can also decorate with chocolate paste decorations. Then, enjoy!
