Sleeves: (make 2 alike) *if you have smaller ndls use them for the ribbing, if not it is okay, just knit closer to the tips and a little tighter on the size 5/0’ s. CO 16 sts in thread B. Ribbing: Work 6 rows in 1:1 rib Change to thread A and work 4 rows in st st. Inc one st, on each end of every RS row 4 times until there are 26 sts. Next 2 Rows : BO 2 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows (22 sts) Break the thread and place this on a spare needle. Make another like it and put it on the same spare needle. Place the sleeves aside for now and work on the back (worked in one piece)
Back CO 54 st with thread B. Work 6 rows in 1:1 rib Change to thread A and work 14 rows in st st. Row 15 (RS): K 14, BO 3, K 25 sts, BO 3 sts K remaining 11 sts. You should have the sts divided so that there are 12 sts on each side and 24 sts on the back. Break the thread and place this piece on an extra dpn.
Join Sleeves to Body: You may need to use 3 or 4 ndls if the tension is too tight—this will ease up after about 6 rows. Next Row (WS): P 12 sts up to armhole decrease, put the WS of a sleeve in place and P 22 sts , then P 24 sts of the back, put the second sleeve in place and P 22 sts , P remaining 12 sts (92 sts) Shape Raglan Pattern (Patt): You will dec 8 sts on each RS row Row 1 (RS): (right front) K 9 st, K2tog, K1, Place 1st marker; (right sleeve) K1, ssk, K to last three sts on sleeve, K2tog, K1, place 2nd marker; (back) K 1, ssk, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1, place 3rd marker; (left sleeve) K 1, ssk, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1, place 4th marker, (left front) K 1, ssk, K to end (84 sts). Turn Row 2 (WS): P. Slip markers as you come to them.
*Repeat rows 1 and 2, dec on each RS row in patt until 60 sts remain. Shape neck: Cont to dec for raglan as you shape the neck Row 1 : K2tog, patt raglan to end (sts) Row 2 : P2tog, P to end. (50sts) Repeat these 2 rows twice more while continuing to work the raglan decreases as described above ( 30 sts). Next Row (RS): Raglan Shaping only (no neck shaping) (22 sts) Next Row (WS): Purl without shaping, break the thread and either leave on the spare needle or place it on a holder.
Buttonband/Buttonhole band and collar: worked as one: *If you want to use a crochet hook to pick up sts for the button bands and collar here is how to do it: With your crochet hook and thread B, begin at the bottom CO edge of the Right Front and pull a stitch through the first horizontal space closest to the edge. Place this stitch on a needle. Pull another thread through the space just to the left and place it on the needle. Continue in this manner, picking up the required amount of sts.
Pick up and K 30 sts along right front starting at the bottom of the CO edge up to the collar sts, then K across the 22 sts of the collar (at the center of the collar use a 2nd needle—see photo below). Pick up and K 30 sts down the front edge of the Left Front (82 sts) Row 2 (WS):[K 1, P 1] Rib Row 3 (RS): K the Knits and P the Purls Row 4 (WS): Patt 4 sts, BO 2, [Patt 5, BO2] 3 times then finish row in [K 1, P 1] rib Row 5 (RS): [K 1, P 1] Rib, when you get to the buttonholes, CO two sts over the bound off stitches. Row6(WS): [K1,P1]Rib
Next Row: BO loosely in rib (you can also use a needle that is a step up in size to ensure the bound off edge is not too tight.. Finishing: Sew in loose ends and seam together sleeves and sides. Wash garment with shampoo and rinse with a small amount of hair conditioner. Block to desired shape. Add 3-4 beads or button along one of the bands.
