I like to preserve my children's artwork with embroidery. I let them draw a picture on fabric with a water-soluble marker and then I interpret their art, using whatever embroidery floss colors and materials I like. It's a fun collaboration, and the embroideries make fabulous wall art and gifts.

1. Assemble your hoop with the canvas fabric and quilt batting. Give the assembled hoop and water-soluble marker to your child.
Let your child draw whatever he/she wants.
Stitch over their design. Decorate it with buttons and appliqué if you wish. Rinse over the water-soluble marker away. Make it awesome!
