We started raising chickens last summer with a tiny coop in the yard. As the winter approached we realized we wanted to keep the girls LAYING all winter as opposed to just keeping them alive. So the chicken castle was built by my father in law, a couple of handymen and myself. This structure has a dual purpose, there is a lofted play area for the kids as well. More pictures of the inside are forthcoming as it has a lot of nice touches. Hanging food and water, roosts and laying boxes, and an automatic chicken door.
