I used a size 5 crochet hook and worsted weight yarn in green and a shade of purple that my Nana bought in the late '90s. (I know right) If you want more stretch then I suggest using a lighter weight yarn or different stitches than those I used. Yes, it took me 5 hours to complete this mainly because I hate to do single crochet but for the sake of texture I made this COMPLETELY in single crochets (BTW, my Nana LOVES this blanket)
