This is good both frozen or just chilled. My grandma used to make this for me when I was little. She used to make it with Cool Whip but I love homemade whipped cream so my how to is to make it that way. If you like Cool Whip better or just want to skip the beginning steps you can just use Cool Whip.

Chill your metal mixing bowl first. Take a large carton of heavy whipping cream and pour it into the chilled bowl. Set your mixer on high and whip the cream until it stands up in stiff peaks. Mix in the pudding mix on medium speed.
Stir in pineapple and cherry pie filling by hand.
You can freeze it or just eat it the way it is. YUM! (Can be made "lite" with the lite cool whip, sugar free pudding mix, lite pie filling, and the regular pineapple!)
